Executive Coaching Client Case: How a Financial Manager Grew Team Revenue by 60% in 5 Months

Most executive coaching case studies tell you what a leader learned. This one tells you what a leader stopped doing, because that is where Marianna’s business growth came from.

Marianna Lapsanska is a manager at a financial institution. In five months of working together, her team revenue grew by 60% and her personal revenue by 50%. Her team expanded, and she is now working on opening a new branch in another city. She did not add a new strategy, a new market or a new system to get there.

The Client: A Financial Leader Who Was Already Succeeding

Marianna arrived with a strong track record. She knew her market, led her team with real commitment, and cared about developing the people around her. If you had looked at her results, you would not have guessed anything was in the way.

That matters for anyone considering executive coaching. The leaders who benefit most are usually not struggling. They are performing well and sense that their results are still smaller than their capacity.

In our first sessions I told her:

“You don’t need another strategy from me. You are the strategy. You already know what to do.”

I meant it literally. When a capable leader has the knowledge and still isn’t moving, the question is no longer how, it is why not.

What Was Slowing Her Business Growth

Our leadership coaching work surfaced a pattern running through many of her decisions: first this has to happen, and only then can I take the next step. First the circumstances align, first the team gets stronger, first everything is in place.

Leaders rarely notice this pattern in themselves, because it looks like prudence. Waiting for the right conditions feels like good judgment, yet it builds a delay into every important decision, and the team grows only as fast as those decisions are made.

These automatic rules are what I call limiting beliefs. They sit below conscious thought, which is why more strategy, more training and more effort never reach them. In this executive coaching work we addressed the beliefs directly, using subconscious techniques, until the rule stopped governing her choices. She began to move in parallel: making several decisions at once instead of waiting for one to resolve before starting the next.

“Imagine What Is Possible for Me Now”

After we worked through one of these beliefs, Marianna looked at me and said:

“Lucia, if I managed to achieve everything I have today while carrying those limiting beliefs, imagine what will be possible for me now that we’ve removed them.”

I think this is the most useful sentence in the whole engagement. She understood that her past results were not the measure of her ability. They were the measure of what she could do with the brakes partly on.

The Results: Executive Coaching That Showed Up in the Numbers

  • 60% growth in team revenue in five months

  • 50% growth in personal revenue

  • A larger team

  • A new branch in another city, already in progress

Marianna did the work: the decisions, the hiring, the follow-through. What the coaching changed was the internal permission that had been delaying those moves. A leader who stops holding herself at an old ceiling gives her whole team room to grow past it.

Why Leadership Transformation Drives Team Revenue

A team’s revenue rarely outgrows its leader’s internal ceiling, because that ceiling shapes what she sees and what she dares to do:

  • Opportunities: you don’t pursue what you privately think is out of reach.

  • Delegation: if everything depends on you, everything waits for you.

  • Decisions under uncertainty: a leader who needs perfect conditions postpones the bold call.

  • Expansion: if you quietly link bigger success with bigger sacrifice, you resist the growth you say you want.

This is why leadership transformation produces business results that skills training alone does not. Communication, delegation and strategic planning are essential, and a leader with all of them can still be capped by a belief she has never examined.

Ambition Without Sacrificing What Matters

Marianna wants a larger business, a talented team and strong earnings. She also wants to be present for her family and her partner, and she doesn’t accept that these goals compete.

Many high-achievers carry a hidden belief that success has to cost them their relationships or their peace. Marianna is building a business and a life in which ambition and closeness coexist, and that standard is part of how she leads.

Is Executive Coaching Right for You?

If Marianna’s story sounds familiar, ask yourself:

  • What am I waiting for before I expand?

  • Which decision am I postponing until I feel completely ready?

  • What have I already achieved while carrying a rule I have never questioned?

Your next stage of business growth may not need another strategy. It may need the removal of the rule that has been setting your limit.
